On Friday morning our brass students had the opportunity of learn from nine of New Zealand’s best brass players who are members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band. The RNZ Airforce Band had come to the Hawke’s Bay to play for the commissioning of the new Dean for the Napier Municipal, and we were lucky to be included in their trip. The ensemble featured one of our old boys Ben Hunt (02-06) who is now a busy musician performing in many bands in Wellington. The ensemble played a selection of pieces to our brass students before breaking into small workshops and lessons to pass on wise words and nuggets of musical knowledge. Well done to the following boys that made the most of this fantastic opportunity: Quinn Le Lievre, Leo Guo, Max Tubby, William Duncan, Theo King, Edward Harvey, Selby Jowsey.
