Everything you need to know;
Welcome to the Lindisfarne College Gala webpage! As a parent, we know there's a lot to take in, so here’s a quick guide to everything you need to know about this key event, an early highlight on the school calendar.
What is it?
The Lindisfarne Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year, held on a Sunday morning with over 50 stalls, games, and activities for everyone to enjoy. This event brings together students, staff, parents, friends, volunteers, and the wider community for a morning full of fun and connection.
Why Do We Host the Gala?
Organised by the Parents & Friends Association (PFA), the gala raises vital funds that enhance the Lindisfarne experience for our boys. But it’s more than just a fundraiser—it’s an opportunity for students, parents, and local families to connect, enjoy, and support each other. The gala is also a chance for prospective families to experience the warmth of the Lindisfarne community, all while picking up quality goods at affordable prices.
How Can You Help?
The success of the gala relies on the generosity and effort of our amazing parents! There are several ways to get involved:
- Quality second-hand items, such as clothing, household items, toys, sports gear, electronics, and books—clean and in working order, ready for one of our many stalls
- Fresh produce like meat, fruits, and vegetables
- Homemade preserves and baked goods
- Raffle and auction prizes (e.g., trailer of firewood, accommodation packages, beauty bundles).
- Small prizes for stalls like the tombola or spin-the-wheel
If possible please store your quality second hand goods until January 2025. If storage at home isn’t an option, there is a storage container available at school. Please let the reception team know, and they’ll be happy to assist. From the beginning of Term 1, we kindly ask that all second-hand goods are delivered to the area outside the atrium, while preserves and baked goods are taken to the staff room.
Donate Time:
We rely on volunteers to make the gala a success! Whether you can help:
- On gala day at a stall (clothing, cakes, books, produce, etc.)
- Sorting items in the lead-up to the event
- Setting up and packing down tents and gazebos
