2021 NCEA Results

2021 was a challenging year in many ways and it would be reasonable to expect that the College’s academic results would reflect the considerable difficulties of the year in lower pass rates. It is a testimony to the students and staff at the College that this was certainly not the case. At all levels of the NCEA qualifications, the pass rates were several percentage points up on last year and at both Level 1 and Level 2, the results were well up on 2019, a year which was unaffected by the disruptions of COVID. In addition to this, Lindisfarne College pass rates at all levels including University Entrance, were 10% to 20% higher than other 8-10 decile schools in New Zealand. Particular congratulations go to those boys whose hard work earned them Academic Colours, Academic Ties and Rector’s Citations.

The following boys also achieved Academic Ties with Distinction:

Level One                                                       Level Two                                               Level Three

William Duncan – 100                           Quinn Le Lievre - 100                       Thomas Goodisson - 98.86

Leo Guo - 100                                              Daniel Diprose -  96.54                    Lanson Randell - 98.44

Anton Milewski - 100                              James Kennedy - 94.9                      Finley Duncan - 97.78

Tom Van der Gulik - 97.56                    Timothy Cornwall - 93.87              Zac Maulder – 96.78

Zachary Ebbett-Watt - 96.04             Dylan Barker - 91.83                         Edward Brougham – 95.85

Rector, Mr Stuart Hakeney had this to say about the results: “I’m incredibly proud of our academic results in 2021. The lead-in to our benchmark examinations was not ideal given the COVID-19 lockdown, but our boys showed resilience, adaptably and true grit to front up and do their very best despite the challenges they faced. They exceeded expectations in the final examinations, with all three year levels achieving pass rates above 90%. The bar has been set and I look forward to us breaking more academic records in 2022. I’m also in awe of our teachers, who worked tirelessly to give our boys every chance to achieve their academic goals last year. Their flexibility in pivoting between online and face to face teaching made a huge difference. The other key to our success was the fantastic work being done by our Learning Enhancement Department. Mrs. Kristy Biggs and her team of teacher aides and reader-writers enabled all boys to fulfil their potential and that is what we are all about at Lindisfarne.”

Congratulations to all those boys who completed NCEA examinations last year. Your hard work and determination have earned you the results you deserve.
