Just like his two older brothers, George has been boarding since Year 9 even though he lives just down the road in Hastings. He is taking over the Head of Boarding role right after his older brother Hugh, aiming to go beyond what Hugh provided for the boys. Throughout his time at Lindisfarne, George has learnt that the best approach to the role of Head of Boarding is to be kind and present with the boys, especially juniors, as they learn more about themselves and how a boarding house operates. George is a strong believer in taking whichever opportunities may cross your path whether that be in the cultural, academic, sport or service cornerstones. His favourite example of this was taking the opportunity to play Flag Football for the Hawke’s Bay Heat Football Club in 2021,. This has allowed him to be surrounded by people with similar passions, travel across the North Island to play other teams, and team up with his school peers in a local Hawke’s Bay tournament. George’s goal for the year is to influence the boys of the Lindisfarne community to make the right choices and to relish the many opportunities that are presented to them, as he has done.
