The Teaching Experience
At Lindisfarne, we are committed to supporting teachers to grow, develop and pursue their professional aspirations. Staff have access to extensive professional learning opportunities and are supported by our dedicated Learning Enhancement team, strong pastoral care systems and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing.
Our professional development culture is collaborative and purposeful, with teachers encouraged to share expertise, explore new ideas and continually reflect on their practice. We believe that investing in our people strengthens our College community and, ultimately, enhances the learning and experiences of every boy.
Teachers have the opportunity to participate in programmes that extend their professional capability and open pathways for future growth. Our Aspiring Middle Leadership Programme supports staff preparing for leadership roles through personal growth, professional capability and a deeper understanding of leadership within the context of Lindisfarne College.
We also support teachers to apply for the IBSC Action Research Programme, collaborating with educators from member schools around the world to investigate and evaluate innovative approaches to teaching and learning. As part of the programme, participants attend the international IBSC conference to meet their research group, then return the following year to present their findings. This provides a unique opportunity to connect with leading educators, share their work and contribute to the global conversation around best practice in the education of boys.
We recognise and value the contribution staff make beyond the classroom. Involvement in the co-curricular life of the College is reflected in remuneration, and tuition fee discounts are available for sons of teaching staff.
With approximately 560 students, including a significant boarding community, Lindisfarne offers the best of both worlds: the breadth of opportunities and resources of a larger school, combined with a close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere where every student is known personally.

Staff wellbeing is a key part of College life. Alongside a positive and supportive culture, staff enjoy access to outstanding sporting facilities throughout the year and delicious meals prepared by our professional catering team.
We also have a New Staff Induction programme, where in their first year here teaching staff get a full induction, a mentor and have regular meetings with colleagues.

This position is designed to enhance the learning support system for our teachers, students, and whānau. There is also a requirement to teach a class.
Working closely with our Assistant Rector – Teaching and Learning and the collaborative learning support team in The Hub, your focus will be on building capacity and ensuring each student receives the support they need.
