Lindisfarne College Dux for 2020 is Lachlan Taylor. The announcement of this award at our Senior prize giving ceremony on 11^th November was greeted with resounding applause. The award would not have been a surprise to anyone who knows Lachie as he is recognised by all as an extremely diligent, humble and caring young man who has stayed true to himself in spite of all his success.

In the face of considerable disruption this year, Lachie’s academic record has remained stellar.  His grade point average across his best five subjects is a staggering 100 and 100% of the credits earned this year have been at Excellence level. Lachie won the Halstead Medallion for excellence as a Science student and has an Excellence endorsement for all three levels of NCEA. He has never missed a single credit for NCEA over three years and 77% of all his credits are endorsed at Excellence level.

In addition to the Lindisfarne College Foundation Scholarship for Dux worth $2000, Lachie has also been awarded the Otago University Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship worth $35 000 over three years. We heartily congratulate Lachie and are sure that he will continue to achieve at this high level throughout his university career and beyond.
